For example, in just 9 months, the Sanford-Brown Institute Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Ultrasound training covers the fundamentals of sonography: OB/GYN, abdominal, small parts, sonographic physics and instrumentations, gray scale, and color-flow Doppler sonography. Students are also trained in patient interaction, patient histories, non-invasive ultrasound procedures, and preparation of ultrasound study reports. Offered at 12 of the school’s nationwide campuses (including Ft. Lauderdale, Dallas, and White Plains), the ultrasound program also includes a clinical externship to give students their first real-life work experience.
